Ryan Kruger, Multi Award Winning - and South Africa's Young Director to Watch This Year - Joins Artists & Legends.

Ryan Kruger is South Africa's top music video director. His commercials are pretty awesome too! His work has been nominated by MTV Africa and his recent video "Doors " for rock band Prime Circle won Best Video of the Year at the South African Music Awards. Ryan's style is sometimes dark, sometimes light but always has a strong, cinematic narrative. His desire is to move more into directing feature films. Behind The Scenes with Photographer Josie Borain and Actress Kim Engelbrecht.

Josie Borain and I met up with Roddy Quin of Real Concerts at quaint Rose Cottage to shoot the publicity images for South Africa's rising star, actress Kim Engelbrecht. The setting seemed a little subtle seeing as the last time I saw Kim, she was running around a desolate landscape with a semi automatic weapon, in the American action TV series Dominion. Kim arrived and as the day progressed, we found Kim to be fun and down to earth, which is a rare commodity for actresses who have worked with legends like Colin Firth and Helen Mirren. Josie Borain is the go-to photographer in South Africa for local and international actors and celebrities. She has photographed actor Jared Leto and actress Taryn Manning for Interview Magazine, and, being a celebrity herself, has documented countless high profile individuals over the years. We at Artists & Legends do not only work with hot models, rock stars and famous actors, we have an altruistic side that looks to produce meaningful work for good people and brands around the world.

Producing awareness campaigns is one of Debbie Bacher's, passions. Her most recent work has been for Siemens and Skype.

SIEMENS GLOBAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN:

Siemen's Global Urban Generation Project - 2012. Johannesburg, Bombay and Istanbul.

1.9 billion children wake up every day in developing countries all over the world, these children are the future generations of cities. The Siemens - Urban Generation Project gives children in developing countries a voice by asking them what they would like to see in their city of the future. We ran a pilot of this project in three developing countries...where each of the cities we visited, Johannesburg, Mumbai and Istanbul all face many very different unique challenges which affect the every day life of the people who live there. Working with Siemens partner schools in each city, we spent time with children in each city and documented through photography and film what they wanted to see in their city of the future.

The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) gave students from six classrooms, including Egglescliffe Primary UK, the chance to meet penguins, learn of their plight and what they can do to help through Skype in the classroom.

We are looking to partner with agencies that work on awareness campaigns and conscientious advertising around the world.
