A short film from director Allie Yonick, soundtracked by Lou Doillon’s “Brother”, explores the important ties that connect IY’s community. The vivid colours and warm light of the South African sun highlight children playing, holding hands, and laughing as Doillon sings softly in the background.
We recently flew up to Johannesburg to shoot a commercial for Mobicel. The influencer campaign launched 1st December 2016. We got to work with rapper Shane Eagle, Gqom Queen Babes Wodumo, Sketchy Bongo, Radio DJ on 5FM Linda Mbuso, Social Entrepreneur Maitele Wawe and Illustrator Kingsley Palime. Our stylist, Chloe Andrea designed Babe's original costume! Directed by Michelle Wastie. DOP Devin Toselli. Editor: Tim Goodwin.
Our producer Debbie Bacher is currently producing another musically orientated project in Johannesburg. The commercial includes an original score by Sketchy Bongo, Shane Eagle and Babes Wodumo. Shooting downtown Joburg brought back memories of this production with Joy Denalane, who came home to walk the path of her ancestors in this beautiful documentary style music video produced by Debbie Bacher
